ISLAMABAD (Adeeb Kakar):- The Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan has submitted nomination papers for the by-elections in 9 constituencies of the National Assembly.
Khan has made history by submitting nominations to participate in the elections from 9 constituencies simultaneously.
After the submission of No-Confidence Motion in National Assembly against the then prime minister Imran Khan, all members of National Assembly belong to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf including Imran Khan had resigned from parliament on April 9, 2022.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf had accepted resignations of 11 MNAs including 9 elected members and two of special seats.
Election Commission of Pakistan has announced by-elections on 9 constituencies on September 25.
The head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced that he would contest the elections himself in all 9 constituencies.
For the by-elections in the 9 constituencies of the National Assembly, Imran Khan has submitted nomination papers from all the 9 constituencies, this is the first time in the country’s history that a candidate will contest elections from 9 constituencies simultaneously.
Among the constituencies from where Imran Khan has submitted nomination papers to contest elections are NA 22 Mardan, NA 24 Charsadda, NA 31 Peshawar, NA 45 Karam, NA 108 Faisalabad, NA 118 Nankana Sahib, NA 237 Malir Karachi, NA 239 Korangi Karachi and NA 246 Karachi South are included.
It should be noted that earlier Imran Khan created history by winning the election from 5 constituencies simultaneously in the 2018 general elections.
