ISLAMABAD (Faizan Ahmed):- The coalition government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has introduced maximum 90 percent customs duties on import of New Sport utility vehicles (SUVs 4×4) and New All-terrain vehicles (4×4) through Finance Bill 2022 which effected from 1st July 2022.

According to the FBR notification, the government has introduced customs duty rate from 2 percent to 90 percent in Finance Bill 2022 for the current fiscal year.

The maximum customs duty has been imposed on import of New Sport utility vehicles (SUVs 4×4). The FBR has also imposed 70 percent customs duty on import of old and used sport utility vehicles 1801cc to 3000 cc, old and used All terrain vehicles (CBU), old and used cars and Jeeps 1801 cc to 3000cc during the current fiscal year.

60 percent customs duty will be deducted on the import of fruit or nut juices (including grape must and coconut water) and vegetable juices, unfermented and not containing added spirit, whether or not containing added sugar or other sweetening matter.

The FBR will get 55 percent customs duty on import of potatoes, Perfumes, toilet waters, beauty or make-up preparations and preparations for the care of the skin.

50 percent customs duty on each import of Cheese and curd and r vegetables and mixture of vegetables, sauces, mixed condiments and mixed seasonings; mustard flour and meal and prepared mustard, dog or cat food and Tobacco. 40 percent customs duty will be deducted on import of footwear.

The govt will also deduct 35 percent customs duty on import of fish, frozen, fish fillets and other fish meat (whether or not minced), fresh, chilled or frozen.

The govt will receive 25 percent customs duty on import of waters, including mineral waters and aerated waters, containing added sugar or other sweetening matter or flavored, and other non-alcoholic beverages, not including fruit, nut or vegetable juices.

It has also receive 20 percent customs duty on the glass envelopes (including bulbs and tubes), open, and glass parts thereof, without fittings, for electric lamps and light sources, cathode-ray tubes or the like. It has also imposed 10 percent customs duty on import of Men’s or boys and women’s or girls’ overcoats, car-coats, capes, cloaks, anoraks (including ski jackets), wind-cheaters, wind-jackets and similar articles and vegetables provisionally preserved, but unsuitable in that state for immediate consumption.

The govt has also imposed 15 percent customs duty on SIM Cards for the current fiscal year.
