ISLAMABAD (Eshfak Mughal):- The Pakistan’s official foreign reserves decreased by $748 million to $8.2377 billion during the week ended on 17 June 2022.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the the foreign reserves held by the SBP has been decreased by Rs780 million during the last week due to high external debt repayments.

The commercial banks have Net foreign reserves $ 5,972.7 million during the period. The total forex reserves in the country remain only $14..21 billion during the week ended on 17 June 2022.

The SBP reserves are expected to increase in coming days on realization of proceeds of CDB loan.

Yesterday, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail stated through twitter, “the Chinese consortium of banks has today signed the RMB 15 billion (~$2.3 billion) loan facility agreement after it was signed by the Pakistani side yesterday. Inflow is expected within a couple of days. We thank the Chinese government for facilitating this transaction”.
