While commenting on the FATF meeting on Pakistan, the Director General ISPR issued a statement through social media. The completion of the FATF’s anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism plans by Pakistan is a great achievement, Army Chief said.

It added that the “monumental effort has paved the way for whitelisting of Pakistan.”

“Core cell at GHQ which steered the national effort and civil-military team which synergised implementation of action plan made it possible, making Pakistan proud,” said the army chief.

It is pertinent to mention here that FATF has decided to conduct onsite visit of Pakistan to remove the country from its grey list. However. the watchdog agency of money laundering and terrorism financing placed Pakistan in its grey list upto onsite visit despite this admission that Pakistan has achieved largely all targets for removing from the grey list.

Overall, Pakistan government officials and opposition leaders has welcomed the decision of FATF and praised the team which are doing work hard in this regard.
