Pakistan registered the highest ever 8183 fresh corona cases in the country
Covid-19 took 30 lives in the country during last 24 hours
Almost 2,242,425 people have been gotten booster doses
260 doctors and nurses of PIM Islamabad have contracted corona
1550 people were diagnosed with corona in one day in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD (our reporter):- The Covid-19 has tightened its grip around Pakistan as the authorities has reported 8183 new cases which is the highest number of any single day since the pandemic erupted in the country.
On January 21, 2022, the country has recorded 7678 new cases which was the highest daily cases but today that recorded has been broken.
According to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 8183 new cases have been registered during the last 24 hours in the country. This increased mainly due to increase of tests. The authorities have taken 68624 corona test. Due to highest tests taking, the positivity rate was registered at 11.92 percent.
According to the NCOC, total death due to Covid-19 was recorded 30 which is the highest since the fifth waive of corona cases due to omicron variant.
Authorities also reporter that 1353 patients are on critical care. However, 1786 patients have been recovered from corona during the last 24 years.
The data shows that 322,467 people have got second dose during the last 24 hours. After that the number of fully vaccinated people have been increased to 80.748 million so far. Almost 98 thousands patient still suffering from corona virus in the country which is a highly risk for health sector
The data also shows that 223230 people got first dose during the last 24 hours, after that 104.228 million citizens have been partially vaccinated so far.
The NCOC also told total numbers of people who got booster have been increased to 2,242,425 after getting more 72419 citizens booster doses during the last 24 hours in the country.
This highest corona cases were reported at a time when Pakistan Supper League 7 has been kicked off.
The fifth wave of Corona is continue in Pakistan and 260 doctors and nurses of PIMS Hospital in Islamabad have contracted Corona.
Officials say times of OPDs at PIMS Hospital have been reduced due to a large number of staff suffering from corona and SOPs are being strictly enforced.
District Health Officer (DHO) Zaeem Zia said that 1550 people were diagnosed with corona in one day in Islamabad and the rate of positive cases has reached 17.13 percent.
On the other hand, OPD in Polyclinic Hospital has been closed till January 31 due to increase in Corona cases, it has been decided to impose lockdown in different areas of Rawalpindi.
The NCOC on Thursday decided to extend the corona virus curbs in the country from January 31 till February 15.
The NCOC had imposed the non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) on January 19, which were to be reviewed on Thursday in light of the COVID-19 situation in the country.
The restrictions for the wedding sector were already imposed till Feb 15.
